There is a gentleman who works for a corporation in the airline industry who has been generously covering most of my airline flights for the past three years, which is no small task since I’ve been flying to California and Colorado regularly.

Recently I was informed that at least for the next year or perhaps indefinitely my flights would no longer be covered. This is a sad loss, but also a chance to show my gratitude for such generosity during the times when I really needed it.

I still remember to this day when I asked Ajahn Brahm about him traveling so lightly all those years ago during our first meeting. He told me “trust in kamma to provide”, a statement I still ponder often to this day, but which has been proven true to me over and over.

Perhaps the support was there when it was needed, and now , soon, the nomad life may be winding down to it’s end and I don’t need it as much as I did before.

I recently bought tickets to California in June using saved up donation money, and it seems that from here on in I will need to be very sparing as I have very little dana to cover things like expensive flights. From here on in I will only be using donation money to fly to Colorado.

If Buddhist groups would like me to attend ordinations or request me to travel, they would need to cover the costs of my flights from here on in.

Thank you for your support these years my friend. May such generosity shown towards me lead to peace and happiness. Being a monastic really teaches you the power of generosity, and gratitude.

  1. Sorry about your situation. I wish I had the finances to help you. Your message was just what I needed to hear but I am a little puzzled by the statement, trust the dharma. I have never heard that in Buddhist context. Can you elaborate more on that statement?
